You'll work with extensively-trained professionals

Employees of the Foremost Insurance Service Center receive thorough, comprehensive training at the start of employment and beyond. Ongoing training and coaching is an investment we make to help maintain a dedicated focus on you, so we can give you the most educated and personalized service possible. Some examples of our employees' training and education:

  • Spend a month in corporate training, learning about Foremost, the insurance we offer, and how to work on our computer systems.
  • Prepare for two weeks to take state agent licensing exams.
  • Take part in team-building activities, like heading out of the office to see real-life examples of those items Foremost insures.
  • Receive training in the Foremost product line which includes: mobile home, motor home, travel trailer, fifth-wheel, specialty homeowners, specialty landlord, motorcycle, off-road vehicle, snowmobile, family boaters, and personal watercraft.
  • Listen while experienced agents handle phone calls.
  • Ongoing training, consisting of continuing education needed to maintain state agent licensing requirements, a certification program that focuses on working effectively with customers, and daily meetings before shifts begin to keep employees updated on current happenings that might affect customers.

The setting

The Foremost Insurance Service Center is located in the headquarters of the Foremost Insurance Group. Nearly 80 members strong, ISC is a diverse group whose experience level ranges from several months to 20-plus years. Each person brings their own personality to the job. You won't find robots working here — just real people with a genuine desire to help you with your insurance.

A basic philosophy the group shares is we go to bat for each other. We want to see each other do well. When a promotion is earned or a job is well done, congratulations flow.

Experienced employees share their knowledge with trainees. To help all agents improve their skills in working with customers, supervisors monitor calls and coach employees on areas to improve. We make certain service is top-notch and agents are trained on how to get better. Most of ISC's management team were telephone representatives, themselves talking with customers every day. We take pride in staffing the Foremost Insurance Service Center with top-quality employees.

Pre-shift meetings are held before our agents take to the phones. We're up on the latest news and happenings, system updates, program changes, coverage improvements, rate changes, threatening weather like hurricanes and wildfires, and other company happenings and communications.
